Int' Children Dance and Food Festival

The International Children Dance and Food Festival has been celebrated every spring since 2006. Pacifica Institute invites schools of different ethnicities throughout the Bay Area, to perform their folk dances, with authentic clothes and native songs. Last year’s program was held outdoors at Golden Gate Park and 18 groups performed in front of a much larger audience. Golden Gate Park is the third most visited city park in the US. The constant flow of people from the two nearby museums provided a good source of audience, and around 2000 people stopped by to watch the performance last year.

This year’s festival will be held on May 21st, 2011 between 10 am and 6 pm at the same focal point of Music Concourse area called the “Bandshell” in the Golden Gate Park where numerous music performances have been staged. A food court will be open serving some Turkish delicacies. Different communities and schools will be taking the stage with their colorful dresses, lively songs and authentic folk dances

Annual International Children’s Dance and Food Festival is a popular free annual celebration of the rich cultural heritage performed by children from all over the world at the San Francisco Bay Area. A fun filled event featuring folk dances with authentic dress, and native songs from different ethnicities and of course foods from around the world.
